Learn How Smart Nutrition™ MAP+MST® is Made in White Springs, FL
Smart Nutrition™ MAP+MST® represents innovation at every step. The ability to deliver sulfur and phosphorus with one product is a testament to the advanced work happening in the Suwannee River Complex plant in White Springs, Florida.
“Such a small particle can have such a big impact on our ability to grow food,” says Juan Diaz, Nutrien Chemical Manager.
As well-nourished soil leads to increased crop yields, growers can feel confident that the small particle size of Smart Nutrition™ MAP+MST® will oxidize faster for quicker crop absorption than other sulfur fertilizers. The unique process combines micronized sulfur (MST) directly into the Mono-Ammonium Phosphate (MAP) manufacturing process, creating a uniform distribution across each granule.
While Smart Nutrition™ MAP+MST® is produced, quality control is a regular measure to ensure the product meets the high-standards growers have come to expect. Samples are frequently taken from the product stream and sent to the lab where each granule is analyzed for sulfur composition. Each granule of Smart Nutrition™ MAP+MST® is uniform and consistent, providing results that growers can count on in every application.

Even though this is an exciting new product, growers can feel assured it handles very similar to a regular MAP product. However, extra care is taken to make the product safe to handle and use. In addition, the final product is coated with an oil to keep it from dusting.
If you’re considering substituting your usual application methods or adding a sulfur fertilizer to your nutrient management program, Smart Nutrition™ MAP+MST® offers a variety of benefits including limited moisture accumulation, bulk blending, and decreased risk of sulfur leaching.
